Meet our Advisors:
Tom Gillis co-founded Bracket Computing with the vision of re-imagining enterprise computing by making the public cloud meet enterprise requirements. Prior to Bracket, Tom was VP/GM of Cisco’s Security Technology Group, leading business units responsible for Cisco’s entire Network and Content Security product portfolio.
Prior to Cisco, Tom was VP Marketing and part of the founding team at IronPort Systems, acquired by Cisco in 2007 for $830M. He was VP/GM of Media at IBEAM Broadcasting, which went public on NASDAQ in 2000. He has held leadership roles at Silicon Graphics, the Boston Consulting Group, and Raytheon Corporation. Tom holds a BSEE from Tufts, an MSEE from Northwestern, and an MBA from Harvard. His Forbes blog is widely followed by CIOs and global IT professionals.
Allan Leinwand is currently VP and CTO, Platform Development at ServiceNow. (NYSE: NOW), building the company’s Platform-as-a-Service cloud computing offerings for enterprise IT. Prior to ServiceNow, Allan was CTO of Infrastructure at Zynga, Inc. responsible for all technical aspects of their cloud infrastructure.
Previously to that, Allan was a venture partner for Panorama Capital, LLC and an operating partner at JPMorgan Partners. Allan founded Vyatta (acquired by Brocade), the open-source networking company. Allan’s accomplished career includes President and Co-founder of Proficient Networks, CTO and VP of Engineering at Telegis Networks, and VP and CTO of Digital Island. (NASDAQ: ISLD) from inception through the company’s IPO and secondary offering. Allan began his career at Cisco Systems helping to build and engineer service provider and enterprise networks worldwide.
Allan co-authored “Cisco Router Configuration” and “Network Management: A Practical Perspective” and has been granted a patent in the field of data routing. He currently is an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley where he teaches the subjects of computer networks, network management, and network design.
Patrick Lin most recently served as Senior Vice President of Product Management at Jive Software. Prior to Jive, he was Vice President of Product Management at VMware, leading the product management and technical marketing teams responsible for delivering the vSphere virtualization platform and a wide range of infrastructure and cloud management platforms.
Patrick has also held product marketing, product management, business development and strategy consulting roles at Invio Software (acquired by VERITAS), Intuit, Microsoft WebTV Networks, and Bain & Company. In addition to an MBA from INSEAD, Lin holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and a BA in East Asian Studies from Stanford University.
Dr. Alain Mayer
Dr. Alain Mayer is a 20-year veteran in computer security and software development. As RedSeal’s founding CTO, Alain was responsible for the original architecture and algorithms of the RedSeal product, a security risk management solution. Prior to RedSeal Systems, Alain was the CTO of CenterRun, a data center management company which was successfully acquired by Sun Microsystems. Before joining CenterRun, Alain was a research scientist for Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies, where he spearheaded several projects in computer security, privacy enabling technologies, and system management.
Alain has been selected twice to present at RSA, has published over 35 research papers and his work has been recognized with the USENIX Best Paper Award in Security. Alain earned a PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University.
Devin Redmond is a 17 year technology and security industry veteran as well as the co-founder and CEO of Social iQ Networks, a cloud-based social media compliance and security solution. Prior to co-founding Social iQ Networks, he served as the global Vice President for Product Management, Corporate Development, Business Development, and Marketing at Websense (NASDAQ: WBSN). Prior to Websense his experience also includes Check Point Software (CHKP), Neoteris (JNPR) and RealNetworks (RNWK).
